The Perfect Summer Smoothie
Smoothies and summer – they’re pretty synonymous right? They're delicious and the perfect thirst quencher in the summer heat. With protein, complex carbs and essential fats, this smoothie is an excellent breakfast option and a great way to start the day. I love this mix of banana and oats, making for a delicious thick fruity smoothie that packs hidden extras like spinach and chia.
1 scoop plain protein powder
1 banana
handful of spinach
1/4 cup rolled oats
1 teaspoon chia seeds
200ml water
small handful of ice
Optional extras: try adding cinnamon and / or turmeric for a delicious hint of spice, or cacao for a yummy choc-banana smoothie
1. Blend all the ingredients together
2. Serve and top with cinnamon / turmeric / cacao / etc if you like
3. Enjoy!
